Eligibility

You can get the CPP–Disability benefit if:

  1. You are under age 65
  2. You contributed to CPP while you were employed for at least 4 out of the 6 years immediately before you became disabled
  3. You have a severe mental or physical disability that regularly stops you from doing any type of substantially gainful work
  4. Your disability is long-term (unlikely to get much better) or is likely to result in death.
